If you see a single silverfish at home, you need to consider what are silverfish. You see, if you notice one silverfish at home, this means that there are more of these bugs hiding somewhere your eyes cannot reach. Silverfish is a pest. Silverfish are bringers of destruction in your home.
The word destruction may be too much overrated. The fact will still remain that silverfish can cause damage. Silverfish can cause damages to books, newspapers and magazines. They also like feeding on wallpaper and cause holes on it. Even your important documents as well as photos are not safe from their appetite. Many more horrible things might happen if silverfish infestation is not curbed.
Silverfish are prey to other creepy crawlers like centipedes and spiders. Such creatures are unwanted in most homes. If there are silverfish at home, then there are centipedes and spiders. They would be in places where you don’t often see. It will surely put you to shame if your guests see such bugs crawling in your place. They might think that your home is unclean.
If you want to end silverfish infestation at home, I have two suggestions. One is to hire professional exterminators. Second, do extermination on your own. If you hire professionals, be prepared to spend some money for they would come at a huge price and will require several visits. On the other hand, exterminating bugs on your own will require a lot of patience on your side. You have to do this for there are many steps involved in eliminating silverfish on your own. Whether you opt for the first one or the latter, the results are the same – no more silverfish.
